Since its discovery in 1990, Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale (ORT) has
worldwide recognition as a respiratory pathogen causing primary or secondary
infections in meat-type chickens. Vaccination of breeders forms an efficient
tool in reducing the economic losses due to ORT
infections.
