Behaviour and feather pecking are priority areas for selection

Providing more space and daylight to layers has a major impact on bird behaviour. Over the years egg producers have learned to deal with feather pecking and cannibalism, but changes in breeds and housing conditions have created the need to pay more attention to these traits.
