Russia’s poultry output increased by about 277,000 tonnes, or 16% in August compared to the 2011 output, according to state statistics service Rosstat.
Meat from cattle rose 4.4% to 110,000 tonnes in the month and pork production gained 8.9% to 76,900 tonnes. Byproducts are taken up in the production figures.
Live weight production of poultry and cattle went up to 6.6m tonnes in the first half of 2012, an increase of 8.8% from production measured in the same period last year.
Poultry and cattle output in August alone was up by 8.6% from August 2011, going up to 900,000 tonnes.
