Growth in poultry meat output in Chile

Between 2000 and 2010, amid general decline in meat consumption, Chile’s poultry and pork output grew by 3.1% per year.

Poultry is Chile’s premier meat consumable, with 594,000 tonnes of dressed meat produced in 2010. Broilers accounted for 84% of that total, with turkey contributing 15.2% to domestic production.
Poultry consumption in Chile accounts for 45 % of the total meat consumed in Chile, translating to 33.3kg per capita in 2010.
Over the decade, poultry output grew by 3.1% per annum.
