Copacol selects Petersime for Brazilian hatchery

Copacol (Cooperativa Agroindustrial Consolata) has selected Petersime to supply the incubators for its new hatchery in the state of Paraná, Brazil.

After the recent inauguration of its new chicken slaughter facility, Copacol decided to increase its hatching capacity. For this project, the company has chosen Petersime’s single-stage Embryo-Response Incubation controlled technology. The first stage of the project comprises an incubation capacity of approximately 2 million eggs per week. A combination of BioStreamer 24S and BioStreamer 12S incubators was chosen to reach this production capacity. The second stage of the project will increase the total capacity by more than 50% of this initial capacity.

With 2013 being the year of its 50th anniversary, Copacol, headquartered in Cafêlandia, PR, Brazil, is a steadily growing organization. Copacol exports products that comply with the strictest quality requirements to more than 40 countries - an excellent example of Brazil’s growing importance as a food producing nation.

Francismar Sanches, Hatcheries & Breeder Manager of Copacol, comments: “We have visited other hatcheries and seen the potential of the technology Petersime is offering. We look forward to applying single-stage technology in our hatchery operations and experiencing the benefit throughout our entire poultry operation.”
