Net Promotor Score (NPS) is an international standard for measuring customer satisfaction by quantifying a respondent’s likelihood to recommend a product or service to friends or colleagues.
- 11 point rating scale, ranging from 0 (not at all likely) to 10 (extremely likely)
- Depending on the score that is given to the Net Promotor question, three categories of people can be distinguished
Promotors = respondents giving a 9 over 10 score
Passives = Respondents giving a 7 or 8 score
Detractors = respondents giving a 0 to 6 score
The NPS can be as low as – 100 (everybody is a detractor) or as high as +100 (everybody is a promotor), an NPS that is positive (i.e., higher than zero) is felt to be good, and a NPS of +50 is excellent.
The NPS is conducted by the independent market research institute Direct Research and was carried out among the World Poultry readers and subscribers.
