An Indonesian woman, aged 19, has died of bird flu. This raises the bird flu death toll in Indonesia to 62.

Health ministry official, Nyoman Kandun, said that the young woman died of bird flu on Friday after being hospitalised for three days in the West Java town of Garut, some 200 km southeast of the capital, Jakarta.
“She had contact with dead poultry six days before hospitalised,” said Kandun.
The woman’s death is the fifth human bird flu fatality in the country since 9 Januar, before which Indonesia had not recorded any cases for six weeks, prompting officials to believe that the country was succeeding in beating the disease.
