09-10-2007 | |

Agro-food company PT Charoen Phokphand plans to build a day-old-chick (d.o.c) industry in West Sumatra, Indonesia.

According to an official, the buildin gof the facility will begin in the beginning of September of this year and cost more than Rp75 billion (€5.8 million).

“At least the company will begin the physical construction of the DOC industry in late 2007,” head of the West Sumatra Husbandry Office Edwardi MM said.

Thus far, West Sumatra had bought d.o.cs from neighbouring provinces, including North Sumatra, to meet the demand from hundreds of poultry breeders.
