Dixie Lee International Industries has announced that the company will be expanding its Dixie Lee Chicken & Seafood Restaurant chain into the United Arab Emirates.

The first move will be a restaurant that will be set up in Dubai, expected to open in February 2008.
The Belleville, Ontario-based chain teamed with Dixie Lee’s Middle-East franchisee, Ahmad Nosratabadi, to launch the chain in the UAE. Nosratabadi plans to establish the chain in 10 markets throughout the Middle East, including five additional restaurants in the UAE in the next two years. The company aims to open 30 restaurants in the region over the next 5-8 years.
“Middle Eastern traditions and its passion for ‘Western-style’ comfort food were a great motivating factor for us to introduce the Dixie Lee Chicken & Seafood experience to the region,” said Joe Murano, CEO of Dixie Lee.
