The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service approved Mexican meat plants.

According to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the agency has approved nine Mexican meat and poultry plants for export to the US.
Safety audit
FSIS finished a follow-up audit of Mexico’s food safety system late last month and “noted significant progress in establishments and the system after implementing corrective action measures,” said a spokesperson.
Nine plants compliant with food safety
According to reports, the Mexican government has officially notified FSIS that 9 establishments in the states of Nuevo Leon and Sonora are certified as fully compliant with food safety requirements and can therefore export meat products to the US.
There are 45 other Mexican plants which must still pass re-inspection by FSIS.
