Crooked-necked swan back for Christmas
Crinkly the crick-necked swan has appeared again at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust in Gloucestershire, where she has spent every winter since she arrived as a cygnet 4 years ago.
Each year Bewick swans flock to the Trust in Slimbridge from Siberia and Arctic Russia.
It is reported that Crinkly first appeared when she arrived at the centre in 2004, and because of her neck deformity, she is easily spotted every year, and has been seen every winter since.
According to a trust spokesman, apart from having a little trouble flying, Crinkly the swan is perfectly normal.
“Against all of the odds, she has survived ten migrations, clocking up over 30,000 km,” said the spokesman.
