Poultry breeding company Aviagen has appointed Dr Leonardo Linares as a new technical service nutritionist.

As part of the global nutrition team, his primary responsibility will be to provide nutritional consultation to both Aviagen customers and internal personnel in Europe, Turkey, Middle East and Africa.  In addition, Linares will work closely with the other members of the global nutrition team in their research efforts.

Linares is from Brazil where he earned a BS in animal sciences from San Paulo State University. He then attended the University of Missouri in the United States of America where he earned an MSc and a PhD in animal sciences with a focus on poultry nutrition.  Linares has more than 11 years of experience in the poultry industry, most recently providing agriculture and nutrition technical support for Perdigao Agroindustrial S/A in Brazil.

There he was responsible for nutrition and feed formulation for broilers, broiler breeders, turkeys and turkey breeders. “Aviagen is committed to being the industry leader in technical support services,” said Dr Bryan Fancher, Aviagen’s vice president of global technical operations. “At the heart of this commitment is finding talented and experienced people like Dr Linares.  We are pleased to have him join our already outstanding global nutrition team.”
