Giant chicken chain to fill potholes

Yum Brands' KFC has offered to fill the potholes in its home city of Louisville, Ky., as well as in 4 other cities, reports the Business Journal.

As part of the marketing effort, the giant chicken chain has hired road crew for its “pilot infrastructure renewal programme”. KFC has pledged to conduct street repairs, which would include the message “Re-Freshed by KFC” stenciled in temporary street chalk.

It is reported that the company will randomly choose 4 other US cities, whose mayors describe to KFC their cities’ needs for street repairs.

“Budgets are tight for cities across the country, and finding funding for needed road repairs is a continuing challenge,” Louisville Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson said. “It’s great to have a concerned corporation like KFC create innovative private/public partnerships like this pothole refresh programme.”

It is not yet known how much the programme will cost or how many potholes would be filled in Louisville.

KFC has 36,000 restaurants in 110 countries, including 14,000 KFC restaurants.
