Norbest turkey producer resumes production
Nearly 4 months after suspending operations due to high grain prices, Norbest turkey producer Moroni Feed Co. has resumed full production.
“Our growers and employees are excited to be back in production,” said Moroni president Kent Barton. “While grain prices have corrected somewhat, we remain concerned about the amount of corn that is channelled into ethanol production under government mandates and subsidy programmes.”
Moroni Feed Co. is a member of Norbest, a federated marketing cooperative that deals with turkeys and value-added turkey products, processing 5 mln turkeys per year.
