From Siberia to St Petersburg promoting health and nutrition

Aviagen’s Russian customer support team recently went on the road with a series of veterinary and nutritional seminars. Over a period two weeks, five seminars, attended by over 100 delegates in total, were held spanning the length and breadth of Russia for customers in Siberia, the Ural Mountains, St Petersburg, Belgorod and Pytagorsk in southern Russia.

Nutrition and veterinary topics were the focus of the agendas:  Barrie Fleming, Aviagen’s Veterinary Consultant for the region, talked about cleaning and disinfection, the importance of biosecurity and vaccination programmes.  Leonardo Linares, Nutrition Service Manager, gave presentations on breeder nutrition, the balance between proteins and amino acids and feed form. Aviagen’s dedicated Russian technical and commercial team was on hand for delegates to discuss any specific questions.

E.V.Bryanceva, Chief Production Manager from ООО “Magnitogorsk Poultry Complex”, located in the Urals, commented: “We appreciated the opportunity of being able to participate in the Aviagen roadshow that took place in Chelyabinsk in November 2010. It was a very interesting and useful event, providing essential information that helped us to get comprehensive answers to our questions. We hope Aviagen will continue to organise and develop similar events in the future featuring different subjects.”

Eduard Taktarov, Sales Director for the region, added: “The opening of our modern hatchery in Yasnogork provides us with the infrastructure to reach customers in Russia by truck. We are proud of our local supply capabilities and our locally-based customer support team as well as our regular programme of seminars and roadshows and Russian-language literature. We were delighted to meet customers in different parts of Russia during our roadshows. The Ural region is an important part of the Russian poultry industry and very interesting for Aviagen as an opportunity for future business prospects.”

Danny Rotherham, Area Technical Manager for the region, said:  “These roadshows have proved very popular with customers as they are able to discuss details in smaller groups. Due to the success and attendance over the two weeks we plan to make this event a regular feature of our technical service in Russia.”
