Global feed prices likely to remain high

Falling profit margins will have a dramatic effect on the poultry industry and may lead tot consolidation and even worse financial problems for large integrators.

Global poultry consultant Paul Aho, USA, told visitors at the International Poultry  Day, held prior to EuroTier, that the current high price foor feed is causing global concern and is not likely to recover soon.

He expects lower feed prices in two years time but he does not believe it will come down to the 2007 level ever again. “In ten years we will have to deal with the current price level, a level which we have to get used to” he said.
