Roxell expands infrastructure with 6,700m² industrial facility

Belgian poultry feeding specialist Roxell has completed the expansion of its facilities to have a complete complex with a surface area of 6,700m².

The company had been leasing a 3,300m² storage facility located only one kilometer from its main building before the expansion.

“The purchase of this building is part of the third phase of our program to prepare our infrastructure for the anticipated future growth”, says Gino Van Landuyt, CEO of Roxell.

“Having already expanded the capacity of our head office with, among others, new loading docks and warehouses, this purchase will further consolidate Roxell’s position within Maldegem and its local community.”

The left wing of the new building, which Roxell had been leasing since September 2011, has been given a drastic transformation. Following an intensive and structured preparation, the 3,300 m² large storage space has been equipped with shelves. A large part of these are reserved for components of Koozii, Roxell’s new automatic community nest. The purpose is to speed up and optimise the preparation, readying and loading of Roxell’s new nest.

“This extra logistic capacity is a necessity”, says Bart Roels, International Sales Manager. “Sales of Koozii have been rising spectacularly. The coming months more than 300,000 hens (both commercial layers and broiler breeders) will be laying their eggs in Roxell’s community nest.”

Gino Van Landuyt: “With the new site, Roxell now has an operational surface area of almost 22,000m² in Belgium and 2,000m² in Malaysia. Roxell also employs people in Russia, India, the Middle East and Brazil.”
