Erich Erber awarded Asian Poultry Personality

Erich Erber, chairman of the executive board of Erber Group and founder of Biomin was awarded the Asian Personality Award at VIV Asia 2013 in recognition of his 30 years of contribution to the field of animal nutrition.

Erber was originally told that if he decided to do business in Asia, to always come again and again to become a friend to distributors and customers. He did exactly this and moved to live in Malaysia in 1994. He then successfully marketed his company’s products in the region and soon his company’s name became synonymous with mycotoxin control. He has always coupled quality service to quality products and now, primarily through his efforts, Asia is a key region for his company.

The VIV Asian Poultry Breeding Award was presented to Sanya Theimsiri, president of Arbor Acres Thailand, Arbor Acres Taiwan and Ross Siam. Theimsiri joined his current company in 1972 and has become famous for his insistence on producing quality stock, flock after flock. He has also adapted international technologies to suit the needs and conditions of South East Asia and been a great mentor and motivator in the Asian poultry industry. Sanya has managed one of the most successful poultry breeding franchises in the global poultry industry for over 30 years.

The inaugural International VIV Asian Meat Personality Award was presented to Vasit Taepaisitphongse, chief operating officer of Betagro Group, Thailand. Vasit has been instrumental in raising quality and food safety standards of the Thai meat industry. He strengthens consumers’ trust in meat products under the S-Pure brand for their fresh, hygienic and nutritious value. A stringent quality management program has been applied throughout the total supply chain in his company from farm to fork to ensure fine quality and maximum food safety. As a consequence, meat products from his company have now been recognised for their quality and value not only in Thailand but also in many countries around the world including Japan and the EU.
