Full house at upcoming IPPE in Atlanta

True to tradition, from 27-29 January, 2015, Atlanta, GA, USA will again host the global 
poultry business. All major exhibitors will be present in the Georgia World Congress Center. IPPE will be the international meeting place for suppliers, producers and processors in the poultry business once more.

After having been a sole 
poultry and feed show for many years, since 2013 the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) has turned into a new concept. IPPE nowadays is a 
collaboration of three integrated tradeshows: International Poultry Expo, International Feed Expo and the International Meat Expo. These three together represent the entire chain of protein production and processing. IPPE is sponsored by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), the American Meat Institute (AMI), and 
the US Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY).

At IPPE 2014, the ‘Showco’ group of companies were not exhibiting. However, at the 2015 edition, everybody is present again. As a result, the show continues to grow. By around 1,200 exhibitors are expected to be on display on a 475,000 net square feet of exhibition space (over 4 hectares). Last October, ‘Trade Show Executive’ from the US ranked the 2013 edition of IPPE as number 35 in its listing of TSE Gold 
100 Shows. According to show manager Charlie Olentine, this clearly reflects the synergies between the three integrated trade shows.
As usual, IPPE 2015 will feature the latest technology, equipment and services used in the production and processing of poultry, meat and feed products.

Expo and other activities

Prior to IPPE, the International Poultry Scientific Forum will take place, as well as all kinds of other workshops and 
education programmes. Some of these are paid programmes, other have free access. Among the paid programmes are an Environmental conference for the meat and poultry industry, Animal 
agriculture sustainability summit and a seminar on Microbial control in second processing. The latter will present strategies for pathogen control food safety programmes in second processing. Such strategies include plant and equipment design and validation, current interventions and the development of new evaluation tools and methods.
Also a paid meeting is the International Rendering Symposium, covering the aspects of converting animal by-product materials into fats and proteins used in animal feed. This seminar will focus 
on the quality and safety of rendered products.

Free educational programmes

A variety of topics are included in the free education programmes at IPPE 2015. Among these is a seminar on bio-security management practices. Another meeting is on the use of antibiotics in the meat and poultry industry. From the importance for animal health to regulatory compliance and the issues surrounding resistance, these sessions will give attendees a scientific look at the complexities and implications of 
antibiotic use in the meat and poultry industry. Other free programmes are on worker safety issues for the meat and poultry industry, as well as on export & international issues.

Online is the only way to pre-register for the discounted price of $50 (USD) up to December 31, 2014. From January 1, 2015, the registration fee will increase to $70. IPPE strongly reminds everyone to bring their registration confirmation with them to the show.
