Pas Reform acquires LAN handling systems

Pas Reform has acquired Dutch company LAN, a specialist in custom-made handling and transport solutions. This accelerates the company's plans for globalization within its hatchery automation division.

LAN’s expertise will give the hatchery industry access to new applications, especially in complex handling systems, robotics and vision technology, says Pas Reform CEO Bart Aangenendt.

Founded in 1970 and based in Tilburg, The Netherlands, LAN is well known in Europe and the USA, with a reputation built on the design and development of customized solutions and innovative systems for the food and pharmaceutical industries. Key customers include Kraft, Mars, Del Monte and Nestlé.   An experienced team of 60, including engineers and world-class production, testing and service capabilities, joins Pas Reform’s Hatchery Automation Technologies division.

LAN Handling Systems will continue to deliver logistics solutions to the food and pharmaceutical industries. In collaboration with Pas Reform, under the new name of LAN Hatchery Automation, the company’s expertise will also be focused on hatchery automation systems for the hatchery sector worldwide.

“For LAN, collaboration with Pas Reform represents an exceptional opportunity to further develop Hatchery Automation products and services in an industry primed for growth”, says Harm Langen, Managing Director of LAN. “The combination of specialist handling solutions for hatching eggs and day old chicks, partnered with Pas Reform’s expertise in hatchery technologies, will deliver a new generation of total hatchery automation solutions.”

Pas Reform’s CEO Bart Aangenendt concludes: “Pas Reform has worked with LAN for a number of years now. It is rewarding to see this developed into such an exciting new partnership: a collaboration that places Pas Reform right at the centre of hatchery automation worldwide, with innovative solutions and an engineering capability that can handle even the largest ‘super-hatchery’ automation project, anywhere in the world.”
