Malindo to produce processed chicken products
Malindo Food Delight a subsidiary of Malindo group in Indonesia will start producing chicken nuggets and sausages with Sunny Gold brand.
The corporate secretary of Malindo group, Rudy Hartono said, “After receiving permission from the National Agency of Drug and Food Control, we will begin the production. We aim for the Sunny Gold products to be ready for the market at the beginning of the 2nd quarter of this year.”
In the early stages, Malindo Food Delight will market Sunny Gold products in big cities in Java, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Jogjakarta and Surabaya. “Once in Java, the next target market is in the major cities in Sumatra and Sulawesi. And the ultimate target is marketed in all areas in Indonesia,” said Hartono.
The processing plant of Malindo Food Delight is located in Cikarang and has started to be built since 2011. The plant has a capacity of 9,000 tonnes per year. The construction of the plant and the establishment of Malindo Food Delight has an investment of IDR 110 billion.
Hartono added that the establishment of Malindo Food Delight and its processing plant is a form of business synergies with the on-farm sector business of Malindo group. “To ensure the supply of raw materials to the processing plants Malindo Food Delight, we have set up an investment fund of IDR 70 billion to build a number of commercial broiler farms,” he said.
