Customs Union creates single poultry association

The Joint Association of Producers of Poultry Meat is to be established in the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, the press-service of the Eurasian Economic Commission reports.

This proposal was approved at a meeting on regulating the supply of poultry products into the Customs Union. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Nadezda Kotkovets, the director of the Department of Agrarian Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission.



“At the meeting the partys’ positions on the decrease in the growth rate of the industry due to the displacement of domestic poultry with imports was discussed. The proposal for the establishment of the Joint Association of Poultry Producers was also put forward, including the adoption of the Memorandum of co-operation in the industry so poultry associations of the three countries could start working in closer partnership in the near future,” Kotkovets stated.



The event was attended by representatives of state authorities from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, poultry enterprises of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Union of Poultry Breeders of the Russia, as well as relevant departments of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
