Eurodon to meet poultry meat demand in the Crimea
Russia’s largest turkey producer Eurodon will launch the supply of turkeys and duck meat to Crimea until the end of 2014, according to the company’s CEO Vadim Vaneev.
“We are located in the Southern Federal District, and it is easy for us to establish deliveries. We were already contacted by our partners from the Crimea,” commented Vaneev. Poultry meat will be sold in retail chains of Crimea.
According to the Russian agency Itar-Tass, the Crimea is facing deficit in poultry products – poultry meat and eggs. Earlier in the peninsula the largest poultry farm ‘South-Holding’, owned by Ukrainian businessman Oleg Bakhmatyuk has been closed. The deficit of poultry meat has resulted in the sharp rise of prices for this type of products.
At the same time, Eurodon has no plans to implement any poultry projects on the peninsula, as it will be hard to find the staff for breeding of turkey and ducks here.
Eurodon has been selling poultry projects in the area of growing turkeys and ducks since 2003. The company’s products are chilled and frozen meat, as well as a wide range of sausage, ham and delicacy of turkey meat.
