Christmas comes early for the Gressingham goose

Speciality poultry company Gressingham Foods in the UK is getting ready for a busy Christmas trading period with its range of geese.

Marketed under the Suffolk-based company’s own Gressingham Foods brand, the Gressingham goose will be available for customer pre-order from Sainsbury’s 11 October and will be in-store 20 December. It will also be stocked by a number of independent retailers and butchers.

Gressingham geese are dry-plucked – a preparation method that gives the bird an attractive appearance when roasted and prevents water loss during cooking, thereby reducing shrinkage. Gressingham Foods is synonymous with speciality meats
