Poultry Feed and Human Food?

There are so many publications on quality of poultry feed and effects it may have on safety of poultry products for human consumption. Poultry feed can be contaminated with a wide range of substances including microbial pathogens, toxins, and chemicals.

Impact of animal feed on food safety was the theme of a joint meeting of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Italy in October 2007.

Occurrence of disease outbreaks in humans, as a result of consumption of poultry products, has been in the center of attention and scrutiny. Increasing consumer awareness is and will be one of the main challenges for the poultry industry all around the world.

Food safety is a major concern everywhere in the world. However, its not a big issue in developing countries because people are hungry and they just want to get enough to quench their appetite. In Pakistan, consumers are getting fresh poultry meat in an effort get clean meat. Salmonella is a major concern in Pakistan’s poultry feed and poultry products. How safe is the feed and poultry products in the country is not determinable.

on of the main reason for the food risk problem is the use of antibiotic continually in poultry nutrition in massive for treatment and preventing, which still using in Iraq-Kurdistan unfortunately . i believe the best is to have such International legislation for the ban of using Antibiotics as baned in Europe from the beginning of 2006. and the best alternative in opinion is natural alternatives more specifically plant sources and medicinal plants, and there is a good opportunity to find allots among them. thank you

poultry products in our country are not safe well,because their is no quality control and strict rules.vulnerability every where could be exsted but the level might be deferent and also resistance against causative agents of the diseases is also important. since countries are closer now than before and many of them have close business relations,political relations and therefore any country could not stay without hazards and effects of the problemes, will keep in mind the avian influenza where did they find and now countries in Europe asia and others are suffering. the rule and legislations, decepline and awareness of people in a sociaty is very important and can play crucial role.thanks
