Occurrence: Worldwide, but rare

Species affected: Turkeys, chickens, pheasants, quail.

Age affected: All.

Causes: Reticuloendotheliosis virus is an RNA retrovirus similar to the avian leukosis/sarcoma group. Some viruses are defective and require a helper virus to complete their replication cycle.
