Anti-plumping campaign, website launched

//24 Jun 2009
With the aim of educating consumers about the practice of "plumping" poultry products with salt water, Foster Farms launches the website saynotoplumping.com.

The website features Martha and Betsy, two talkative, 100% natural chickens engaged in weighing (no pun intended) the pros and cons of getting some plumping done.

Foster Farms does not inject its fresh poultry products labelled "100% Natural", and through this campaign it wishes to provide consumers with plumping facts and figures, how to detect a plumper, links to health resources and an interactive "Plumpinator" calculator to help site visitors calculate how much money they spend on saltwater from plumped chicken each year.
