Biosecurity award for Cobb Europe team

//22 Feb 2012
The annual Cobb award for the biggest advance in biosecurity programs and disease prevention has been presented to Roy Mutimer, general manager for Cobb Europe — their second success in four years of the award.

In making the award at the company’s quarterly update meeting at Siloam Springs, Arkansas, USA, Cobb president Jerry Moye commented:  "We’re delighted to present this award to Roy Mutimer and Cobb Europe.  It is their team’s continuing focus on the finer details of biosecurity to protect flock health that enables them to repeat their success."

Mutimer praised his whole team and the contract growers for all their hard work on biosecurity. "There were those who really doubted whether we could control the mycoplasma threat, so going a whole year with no flock loss is a fantastic achievement,” he said.  “This has nothing to do with luck — more about the total commitment to live the biosecurity culture every day and so make it possible to protect our flocks.”

He added that mycoplasma continued to be a challenge, particularly in Holland, with strict biosecurity procedures needed to keep their flocks clean.  Additionally, there was no salmonella break in any flock for the entire year.
