China bans Dutch poultry imports

China has banned poultry products imported from the province in the Netherlands which recently announced an incidence of Avian Influenza, China's state-run news agency Xinhua has reported.

The ban invoked over the weekend affects poultry products from the southern province of Zeeland where an outbreak of H7N1 bird flu virus was reported  on March 22.

China's quarantine watchdog agency and Agriculture Ministry said any poultry or poultry products mailed to the country or carried by tourists from the Netherlands will be returned or destroyed. Any poultry or poultry products originating in the Netherlands found on ships, planes or trains will be sealed.
