Company update: Ovostar increases egg production by 11%

Ovostar Union, the second largest producer of eggs and egg products in Ukraine, increased egg production by 11% during the period of January-September 2011 compared with the figures over the same period in 2010 - up to 443 million units.

According to a company press release, the sale rate of eggs for the first nine months increased by 19% compared with last year - up to 323 million units. Holding also announced that in the period of January-September 2011, the company has processed 159 million eggs, which is 30% higher than the during same period in 2010.

Ovostar Union has exported 71 million eggs - 65% more than during the same period in 2010. Representatives of the company also said that on September 30, 2011 the total population of laying hens of the company was 2.45 million, up by 25% compared to the level of the last year.

According to statistics, Ovostar Union in 2010 produced 546.1 million eggs and 4.7 tonnes of egg products, while poultry livestock on its factories has reached 2.1 million heads.
