It has been reported that approx. 28% of the 765 employees screened for tuberculosis at Wayne Farms LLC's poultry processing facilities in Decatur, Alabama, have tested positive.

Final testing was recently completed at the Alabama State Department of Public Health's Tuberculosis Control Division. A total of 212 positive skin tests were reported.
Testing was conducted in two separate batches. On 11 October, a total of 167 employees were tested, with the result of 47 positive skin tests, one of which being active and contagious. The final group of tests was recently completed, resulting in 167 positive skin tests from a batch of 598 samples. Chest X-rays will be done to determine if any of those cases are active and contagious.
