Natural feed additive co. buys vacant manufacturing plant

// 12 May 2008

ChemGen Corp., a US biotechnology company that makes a natural feed additive to help chickens, turkeys and pigs digest food, has bought a long-empty manufacturing plant in Terre Haute.

The plant had been owned by New Jersey-based Alpharma Inc., which had planned to use it to manufacture a pig growth hormone, but never did.
It is expected that ChemGen will begin operating in the plant by the end of the year.
Financial terms for the 67,000-square-foot building were not disclosed.
