Update: New $43 mln poultry processing plant

A joint venture between Keystone Foods and Lopez Foods has formed a company to supply processed chicken to restaurants and food stores.
Additionally, the partnership will build a $43mln new plant - Rancho
Poultry LLC will be in a 100,000-sf facility on 25 acres.
It has been reported that the new poultry processing plant will have 2
lines that will season and cook up to 60 mln pounds of chicken per year. The
plant, which will be the main supplier for McDonald's, will receive birds
shipped from a slaughter house in Albany.
It is further reported that the plant will be completed in January 2010. A
third product line is also being considered, and the site may ultimately employ
about 300 people.
