Indonesia forum previewing VIV Asia 2013

//18 Jul 2011
VIV Asia in Bangkok has only just finished. But preparations for the 2013 edition have started already. In Jakarta, the VIV Asia Forum – Indonesia took place in early July, organised by NEO from Thailand and Trobos from Indonesia.
By around 60 participants from the private sector, associations and government, all related to animal husbandry, were attending the forum. Senior project Manager NEO, Mr. Teerayuth Leelakajornkij observed that the economic outlook for Indonesia is bright. "The country’s poultry and feed industries are expected to grow by 6% in 2011, while poultry consumption growth to 2014 is predicted to increase 36.1%. This will come from a combination of increased domestic demand and government initiatives aimed at not only making the country self-sufficient, but also allowing it to become a major regional exporter,” he said.

In that respect, he continued, the VIV Asia Forum Indonesia came at the perfect timing. It was aimed to be the platform for industry professionals to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the Indonesian poultry and feed industry. "We also discussed on how to maintain a sustainable growth of Indonesia's promising livestock industry.”

NEO also organized a business meeting between delegates of the Indonesian and Thai livestock industries. “Through business matching and cooperation between associations, Indonesian poultry and livestock professionals can explore new business opportunities and share knowledge and business best practices with their Thai counterparts,”  Leelakajornkij said.
