This statement was made by Chaweewan Kampa, President of the Poultry Promotion Association Of Thailand.
Thailand has already exported 600,000 t of corn during the first 10 months of this year, compared with around 340,000 t exported the whole year last year; and exports are estimated to reach more than 1 mln t for the entire year in 2009, as demand in the global market escalates in the wake of crop damage in the US.
As a consequence of higher exports, domestic corn price rose and chicken production cost will soar, Chaweewan said, urging the government to look into the issue to prevent over-exports.
