UK: DVD on Salmonella control in layers

The Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA) in the UK has produced a DVD entitled Salmonella Control in Laying Hens.

Salmonella is the second most frequent cause of bacterial food poisoning in humans and as a result, the EU has decided that Salmonella Enteritidis and Salmonella Typhimurium must be better controlled on laying farms, reports Pekinout.

The new DVD aims at guiding producers through the most important aspects of Salmonella control on the farm.

French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish versions of the DVD are available. The price is £27.00 plus VAT.
