US kosher poultry processor ups production

//20 Nov 2008
As a result of recent shortages, US poultry processor Empire Kosher Poultry will expand its production by 50% to meet demand.

Reports state that poultry processor will expand its production of kosher chicken by 24 November, adding over 100,000 birds each week to the marketplace.

Empire's spokesman Elie Rosenfeld said that there has not yet been a reported shortage of kosher poultry in the marketplace. However, she says there has been a tightening in the market since Agriprocessors suspended production lines and filed for bankruptcy earlier this month.
